GameCo. Regional Sales Analysis

Project Overview:

GameCo, a new gaming company, is looking to allocate its marketing budget and plan development projects. They seek to leverage historical market trends to inform their decisions and determine if sales in various geographical regions have remained consistent over time.

Objective:

The primary goal is to assess sales trends over a period of time to confirm their stability, thereby validating or refuting GameCo's current hypothesis. Additionally, the project aims to evaluate regional sales performance for 2016 and provide informed recommendations for the 2017 marketing budget.

Tools:

Microsoft Excel

Microsoft PowerPoint

My Role:
For this project, I served as both a business intelligence analyst and storyteller. I managed the data from start to finish, delivering business insights and presentations, and sharing insights and recommendations with the executive team.

Current Company  Hypothesis

Using Excel, the data was explored, cleaned, and analyzed to address business questions effectively.

The current understanding can be easily challenged based on the provided data. GameCo's hypothesis that video game sales have remained consistent across various geographical regions over time is incorrect.

A line graph reveals that regional sales in North America, Europe, and Japan have fluctuated over the past five years.
